LottoLens — Privacy Policy

Plain-English summary
LottoLens does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you. Everything you do in the app stays on your iPhone. The only data that ever leaves your device is (a) anonymous requests for public lottery results, and (b) anonymised number statistics sent directly from your phone to Google's Gemini API using a key you provide. We never see, log, or receive any of it.
What stays on your device
The following are stored only on your iPhone, in storage sandboxed to LottoLens, and are never transmitted to us or any server we operate:
• Your Google Gemini API key — stored in iOS Keychain (encrypted at rest by iOS).
• Cached UK National Lottery and EuroMillions draw history, fetched from a public source.
• Your in-app preferences (selected lottery, analysis depth, recent picks).
• Any picks you save as favourites.
Removing or reinstalling the app deletes all of the above immediately.
What is sent off your device, and where it goes
1. Lottery results — When the app refreshes, it fetches public HTML pages from lottery.co.uk, an independent UK lottery results archive. The request is anonymous and contains only standard HTTP headers; we send no identifier, account, or location data with it.
2. AI-generated picks — When you tap "Generate My Picks", the app sends an anonymised summary of historical number frequencies (e.g. "number 23 has appeared 18 times in the last 200 draws") directly from your phone to Google's Gemini API at generativelanguage.googleapis.com, authenticated with the API key you entered in Settings. The request contains no name, email, device identifier, IP-derived data, or anything else that could identify you. Google receives and processes it under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
We do not have a server, account system, analytics SDK, crash reporter, advertising network, or tracking technology of any kind. Nothing about your use of LottoLens is sent to us.
What we do not collect
We do not collect, and the app does not request:
• Your name, email address, postal address, or phone number
• Your IP address or geolocation
• Your device identifier, IDFA, or any advertising ID
• Your contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, or camera
• Any payment information (the app contains no purchases)
• Any analytics, behavioural, or usage data
Cookies and tracking
LottoLens does not use cookies, web beacons, fingerprinting, or any tracking technology.
Children
LottoLens is intended for adults aged 18 or over, in line with UK National Lottery age requirements. The app shows an 18+ confirmation screen on first launch. We do not knowingly process any data relating to anyone under 18. If you believe a child has somehow used the app, contact us and we will help where we can — though as we hold no user data, there is generally nothing for us to delete.
Your rights under UK GDPR
Because we do not collect or hold any personal data about you, there is in practice nothing for you to request. For completeness, under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). You can exercise any of these rights, or ask any privacy question, by emailing matt@luminaryai.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days.
Data retention
We retain no personal data, so there is nothing to retain. On-device data is retained on your phone until you delete the app or clear it from Settings within the app.
International transfers
Because we hold no data, we make no international transfers. When you generate AI picks, your phone communicates directly with Google's servers; please refer to Google's privacy policy for details of where they process that traffic.
Third-party links and services
The app contains links to BeGambleAware.org and GamCare.org.uk for responsible-play resources, and to aistudio.google.com so you can obtain a Gemini API key. Following those links opens your browser; their respective privacy policies then apply.
Security
The app uses HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or higher) for all network requests. Your Gemini API key is stored in iOS Keychain, which is encrypted by Apple and sandboxed to LottoLens. We strongly recommend you keep your iPhone's passcode and software up to date.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where the change is material, will inform users via an in-app notice on the next launch following the update.
